ok so im having a lot of issues with my apartment. is there a Minnesota tenant law stating landlords must replace drafty windows?
My landlord is extreemly lazy and cheap. when I call with problems she either puts it off or suggests moving to a more expensive unit in an attempt to make more money.

My mother-in-law gave us a bedroom set from the 80's to use in our spare bedroom. I want to try and paint the set and get new hardware for it. I was wondering what type of paint to use. I think there is a wood veneer over the top. There are also what look like water spots and damage on the surfaces of the pieces. This will be my first attempt at something like this, so any advice will be appreciated. Thanks!

The whole story….Desperate to move, Signed a landlord / tenant very loose agreement on Wednesday 2pm, gave the guy 6 month rent in bank check marked for 6 months rent, my name, the adress etc. went to look at it wed. eve and found mold / evidence of water damage and many other conditions. I have MG and an allergy to mold already sick for two years because of a place I lived in for 13 and won a law suit over it… tell the guy can't live here, he was only willing to put up new sheetrock and that does not get rid of mold, I can't risk getting sick…We agree I'm not the tenant for him -he asks for the keys I give him them, now he wants to keep one months rent!!!
I HAVE TO MOVE and he has the money I need to do it!!!
He says he had another renter….
Trying to find every angle -then someone told me there is an amount of time allowed to rescind every contract.
Did he rescinded the contract by not having the apartment in habitable condition?
Any ideas????
I am in NY. and yes I am sure its mold -water damage evident and black evident, lived with it before, got very sick, know it well. The apartment had many conditions that make it unhabitable by real property law 235 standards. Point is he said he does not want me to rent the apartment either, we agreed to null the agreement and HE told local community board that he will not rent to me – yet he cashed bank check marked, for 6 months rent for MAP, …bronx NY….
the agreement I signed on the 15th says rent is due on the first. I have no money and no keys at this point….
He told the community board he is entitled to one months rent ($1250)for the less than 24 hours I had the keys to an inhabitable apartment. HELP
I had an attorney call and a community board leader call to say I would take the apartment – nothing about subleasing in contract and if I have possession I have recourse to make him fix it (HPD) he refused to rent me the apartment now. He has violated both Real Property law 228 re:possession and 235 : warrant of habitability. The contract states rent is due on the 1st, he still hasn't rented it – how is he entitled to one months rent? Plus, this was all done within less than 24 hours, isn't there a law which allows time to rescind a contract?

My smoke detector was damaged when the neighbors upstairs flooded their apartment. It was a little over two weeks before anyone came to inspect the smoke detector which was not working. When they finally did fix it. They didn't bother to attach it back to the ceiling. So at this point it is hanging from the wires. Also, does anyone know if there is a city inspector or some such person who can inspect the apartment for mold due to the water damage in the walls and carpet?

Sorry, already asked this questions, but I got more info. Wouldn't the law of constructive eviction apply?
My landlord is being negligent about repairs in our apartment and now our entire apartment smells like mold because of water damage they are not properly taking care of. We have decided to move because of the conditions we are living in. Do we still have to give a formal notice although they are in breach of contract not providing a habitable living environment?

My baby is 1 year and a half. She is now on cow's milk (whole fat) I always give her bottle with cow's milk without add any water but my mother in law said it's very dangerous, it can cause of damage baby's stomach and I have to add 2 part of water in 3 part of cow's milk!!! BUT in my opinion I dont think i should do it because my baby will get less than goodness of milk! Anyone know about this, please answer my question!

We want to sale our trailer in a mobile home park where the water has tested high in uranium. Our property has lost value because of the situation and we are wondering what to do. It would seem unethical to not inform prospective buyers of the water issue, but are we required to do so, and can the landowner be held liable for damages?
